Hyundai

Hyundai is a group of companies founded by Chung-Ju Yung in South Korea. The first Hyundai company was founded in 1947 as a Construction Company company.Hyundai motor Company, a division of the Hyundai Kia Automotive Group, is the world’s fourth largest automaker in terms of units sold and one of the Big Asian Four . Headquartered in Seoul,South Korea, Hyundai operates the world’s largest integrated Automobile manufacturing facility in Ulsan, which is capable of producing 1.6 million units annually. The Hyundai logo, a slanted, stylized 'H', is said to be symbolic of two people (the company and customer) shaking hands. Hyundai means "modernity" in Korean. The company employs about 75,000 persons around the world, Hyundai vehicles are sold in 193 countries through some 6,000 dealerships and showrooms worldwide

Hummer

Hummer is a brand of trucks sold by Motors Liquidation Company . The original Hummer H1 was based on the military High Mobility Muti Purpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV). However, the Hummer H2 and the Hummer H3 were based on other, smaller civilian-market vehicles.

Chinese automaker Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machiner Company announced in 2009 that it will acquire the Hummer brand pending government approvals.

Honda

Honda Motor Company LTD is a Japanese multinational corporation primarily known as a manufacturer of automobiles and motor cycles.

Honda is the world's largest manufacturer of motorcycles as well as the world's largest manufacturer of internal combustion machines measured by volume, producing more than 14 million internal combustion engines each year. Honda surpassed Nissan in 2001 to become the second-largest Japanese automobile manufacturer.^[update] As of August 2008, Honda surpassed Chrysler as the fourth largest automobile manufacturer in the United States. Honda is the sixth largest automobile manufacturer in the world.

Honda was the first Japanese automobile manufacturer to release a dedicated luxury brand, Acura in 1986. Aside from their core automobile and motorcycle businesses, Honda also manufactures garden equipment, marine engines, personal watercraft and power generators, amongst others. Since 1986, Honda has been involved with artificial intelligence/robotics research and released their ASIMO robot in 2000. They have also ventured into aerospace with the establishment of GE Honda Aero Engines in 2004 and the Honda HA-420 Honda Jet, scheduled to be released in 2011. Honda spends about 5% of its revenues into R&D.

Ford

The Ford Motor Company is an American Multinational corporation based in , a suburb ofDearborn,Michingan,Detroit. The automaker was founded by Henry Ford and incorporated on June 16, 1903. In addition to the Ford,Lincoln, and Mercury brands, Ford also owns of Sweden, and a small stake in Volvo carsMazda of Japan and Aston Martin of England. Ford's former UK subsidiaries Jaguar and Land Rover were sold to Tata Motors of India in March 2008.

Ford introduced methods for large-scale manufacturing of cars and large-scale management of an industrial workforce using elaborately engineered manufacturing sequences typified by moving assembly lines. Henry Ford's methods came to be known around the world as Fordism by 1914.

Ford is currently the fourth-largest automaker in the world based on number of vehicles sold annually, directly behind Volksvagen. In 2007, Ford fell from second to third in US annual vehicle sales for the first time in 56 years, behind only General Motors and Toyota. However, Ford occasionally outsells Toyota in shorter periods (most recently, during the summer months of 2009). As of 2008, Ford has become the second largest automaker in Europe (only behind Volkswagen), with sales that occasionally exceed those in the United States and large markets in Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Ford is the seventh-ranked overall American-based company in the 2008 Fortune 500 list, based on global revenues in 2008 of $146.3 billion. In 2008, Ford produced 5.532 million automobiles and employed about 213,000 employees at around 90 plants and facilities worldwide. Starting in 2007, Ford received more initial quality survey awards from J.D.Power Associates than any other automaker. Five of Ford's vehicles ranked at the top of their categories and fourteen vehicles ranked in the top three.

Ferrari

Ferrari S.p.A. is a sports cars manufacturer based in Maranello, Italy. Founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1929 as Scuderia Ferrari, the company sponsored drivers and manufactured race cars before moving into production of street-legal vehicles in 1947 as Ferrari S.P.A. Throughout its history, the company has been noted for its continued participation in racing, especially in Formula One, where it has enjoyed great success.

Dodge

Dodge is a United States-based brand of Automobiles,Mini Vans,Sport Utility Vehicles, and,until 2009, Pickup Trucks, manufactured and marketed by Chrysler Group LLC in more than 60 different countries and territories worldwide. Founded as the Dodge Brothers Company in 1900 to supply parts and assemblies for Detroits’s growing Auto Industry, Dodge began making its own complete vehicles in 1914. The brand was sold to Chrysler Corporation in 1928, passed through the short-lived Daimler Chrysler Merger of 1998–2007 as part of the Chrysler Group, was a part of Chrysler LLC owned by Cereberus Capital Management, a A private Equity Investment firm, and is now a part of the Chrysler Group LLC which has an alliance with Fiat. Fiat has plans to eliminate some Dodge, Chrysler, and Jeep existing vehicles in favor of Fiat-Chrysler co-developed vehicles.

Chevrolet

Chevrolet is a brand of automobile produced by General Motors Company (GM). Founded by Louis Chevrolet and ousted GM founder William.C.Durant on November 8,1911, Chevrolet was acquired by General Motors in 1917. Chevrolet was positioned by Alfred Sloan to sell a lineup of mainstream vehicles to directly compete against Henry Ford's Model T in the 1920s, and continues to hold its position as General Motors' highest-selling brand to the present day, with "Chevrolet" or "Chevy" being at times synonymous with GM. In North America, Chevrolet offers a full range of automobiles, from Sub-Compact Cars to medium-duty commercial trucks.

Cadillac

Cadillac is a luxury vehicle marque owned by General Motors Company. Cadillac vehicles are sold in over 50 countries and territories, but mainly in North America.

Founded in 1902 as the Cadillac Automobile Company, it was purchased in 1909 by General Motors and over the next thirty years established itself as America's premier luxury cars. Cadillac pioneered many accessories in automobiles, including full electrical systems, the clashless manual transmission, and the steel roof. The brand developed three engines, one of which, set the standard for the American Automotive Industry.

Bugatti

Bugatti was founded in Molsheim,France as a manufacturer of high performance automobiles by Ettore Bugatti, an Italian immigrant described as an eccentric genius.

The original company is legendary for producing some of the most exclusive cars in the world, as well as some of the fastest. The original Bugatti brand failed with the coming of World War II,like many high-end marques of the time. The death of Ettore's son Jean was also a contributory factor. The company struggled financially, and released one last model in the 1950s, before eventually being purchased for its airplane parts business in the 1960s. Today the name is owned by VolksVagen Group, who have revived it as a builder of limited production exclusive sports cars

BMW

BMW or Bavarian Motor Works is a German automobile, motorcycle and engine manufacturing company founded in 1916. It also owns and produces the MINI brand and is the parent company of Rolls-royce Motor Cars. BMW is known for its performance and luxury vehicles.

Audi

Audi AG is a German company which produces cars under the Audi brand.It is a part of the Volkswagen group.The name Audi is based on a latin translation of the surname of the founder August Horch,itself the german word for "LISTEN".Audi is manufactured in Ingolstadt,Bavaria,Germany.

Aston Martin

Aston Martin Lagonda Limited is a British manufacturer of luxury sports cars, based in Gaydon,Warwickshire. The company name is derived from the name of one of the company's founders,Lionel Martin, and from the near Aston Hill Speed HillclimbAston Clinton in Buckinghampshire.

From 1994 until 2007 Aston Martin was part of the Ford Motor Company, becoming part of the company's Premier Automotive Group in 2000. On 12 March 2007, it was purchased for £479 million (US$848 million) by a joint venture company, co-owned by Investment Dar and Adeem Investment of Kuwait and English businessman John Sinders. Ford retained a US$77 million stake in Aston Martin, valuing the company at US$925 million.

Cars

An automobile,motor car or a car is a wheeled motor vehicle used for transporting passengers,which also carries its own motor or engine.Most definitions of the term specify that automobiles are designed primarily to run on roads,to have seating for one to eight people,to typically have four wheels and to be constructed principally for the transport of people rather than goods.However the term automobile is far from precise,because there are many cars that do similar tasks.

There are approximately 600 million passenger cars world wide.Around the world there were about 806 million cars and light trucks on the road in 2007.They burn over 260 billion US gallons gasoline and diesel full yearly.The numbers are rapidly increasing in China and India.
